Privacy Policy
Battery Life is made by RBT Digital LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with data, which third parties are involved, and what you can control. It applies to the Battery Life app for iPhone and iPad, its widgets, and its Apple Watch app.
The short version: Battery Life has no accounts and no cloud. Your battery readings and the list of your devices stay on your device. The app sends usage statistics and crash reports to Google (Firebase), shows ads through Google AdMob and its partners unless you own Battery Life Pro, and sends a support request to us only when you write one.
1. Who is responsible
RBT Digital LLC, 30 N. Gould Street, Ste 6045, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States, is responsible for the data described here (the "controller" under European law). Contact us at our contact form with any question about this policy or your data.
2. What stays on your device
The app reads the battery level, charging state, and runtime estimates of your iPhone or iPad, of your paired Apple Watch, and of accessories you connect over Bluetooth or cable, such as AirPods, keyboards, or game controllers. It keeps these readings, the names of your accessories, any custom names you give them, and your settings in a database on your device. The widgets and the Apple Watch app read the same data through a container shared between the app and its extensions on your devices. Notifications are scheduled by the app on your device; there are no push notifications. None of this leaves your device, except in a support request that you send yourself (section 5).
Battery Life Pro is stored as a flag in your device's keychain, together with a random installation identifier. The app creates that identifier itself; it does not identify you personally and is used only to tell installations apart in support requests.
3. Usage statistics, crash reports, and performance data (Google Firebase)
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, and Remote Config, provided by Google LLC.
Analytics records which screens you open, which tutorials you start and finish, whether a promotion for Battery Life Pro was shown, when an ad earned revenue, how long the app was silent in the background, whether it was force quit, and the outcome of the consent and tracking prompts. It also records whether you own Battery Life Pro and whether an Apple Watch is paired. Google adds technical details: device model, iOS version, language, the country derived from your IP address, app version, an app-instance identifier, and, only if you allowed tracking, the advertising identifier. Battery readings, device names, and your list of accessories are never sent to analytics.
Crashlytics sends a report when the app crashes, with the device model, iOS version, app version, free memory and disk space, and the stack trace. Performance Monitoring measures app start time and screen rendering. Remote Config downloads a few settings, such as how often an interstitial ad may appear.
Analytics is on by default. You can switch it off at any time in More → Analytics. Crash reports and performance data are collected as long as the app is installed.
Google keeps analytics events for at most 14 months and crash reports for 90 days. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. 4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version shows banner and interstitial ads served by Google AdMob. Ad requests carry your IP address, device model, iOS version, language, app version, the consent choices described below, and, only if you allowed tracking, your advertising identifier. Google uses this to select, deliver, and measure ads and to prevent fraud. If you did not allow tracking, ads are still shown, but they are not based on your activity in other apps.
If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a US state with a privacy law, the app asks for your consent choices through Google's consent form before the first ad. Your choices are stored on your device and sent with every ad request as a consent signal. You can change them at any time in More → Privacy options. iOS additionally asks whether the app may track you; you can change that in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
If you buy Battery Life Pro, the app does not start the ad SDKs, requests no ads, and shows no consent form.

5. Support requests
When you send a message from More → Send Feedback, the app sends it to our server, which forwards it by e-mail to us. It contains the e-mail address and message you enter, your name if you add it, the screenshot you attach if any, and, so that we can reproduce a problem, your device model, iOS version, language and region, app version, whether you own Pro, and the installation identifier. If Analytics is switched on, it also contains the list of your accessories as the app sees them, including their names and last readings. Switch Analytics off before sending if you do not want that included. A screenshot is read from your photo library only when you pick one.
We use this only to answer you. We keep the conversation as long as needed to resolve your request and to handle follow-ups.
6. Purchases
Battery Life Pro is a one-time purchase through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment and knows what you bought; we receive no name, address, or payment details. The app checks your purchase with Apple's StoreKit on your device.
7. Help pages
The FAQ and the version history open help.batterylifeapp.com inside the app. Like any website, it sees your IP address and the pages you open in its server logs.
8. Security
All connections use HTTPS. The app talks to our own servers only after verifying their certificates against a copy it carries.
9. Legal bases (European Economic Area, United Kingdom)
Personalized advertising and tracking: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time as described in section 4. Non-personalized advertising, usage statistics, crash reports, and performance data: our legitimate interest in keeping the free version funded and the app working, and your consent where the law requires it; you can object by switching Analytics off and through Privacy options. Support requests: taking steps at your request and answering you. Purchases: performance of the contract with you.
10. International transfers
We are a United States company, and Google processes data in the United States and other countries. Where European or United Kingdom law applies, transfers to Google rely on Google's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its United Kingdom extension, and transfers to other providers on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw a consent you have given. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom you may also complain to your data protection authority. Write to our contact form; we answer within one month. Because the app has no accounts, we can only find data connected to a support request you sent or to an identifier you give us.
Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws: we do not sell your personal information. Personalized advertising may count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under those laws; you can opt out through More → Privacy options and the iOS tracking setting. We do not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Deleting the app removes the local database, the shared container, and the scheduled notifications. The keychain flag for Pro remains on the device so your purchase is recognized after a reinstall.
12. Children
Battery Life is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes
We may update this policy when the app or the services it uses change. The new version appears in the app under More → Privacy Policy and at https://www.batterylifeapp.com/privacypolicy/ with a new "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we point it out in the app's release notes.
